Arm and Knee CBD Sleeves to be Made by North Carolina Partnership

Cannabis has been on the news lately, and for the first time in years, it’s not being portrayed in a negative light. From recreational to medical use, everybody wants a piece, and for good reason. It’s an insanely versatile crop with more uses than can be counted.

The 2018 Farm Bill was instrumental in removing the stigma. The legislation classified cannabis with less than 0.3% THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) as legal industrial hemp, and farmers in all states and tribes were allowed to grow the crop under state and tribal programs.

Cannabidiol (CBD) has undoubtedly been responsible for the surge in hemp’ s popularity. The hemp extract is a potent natural medicine with dozens of applications. People have for years been using it to manage their anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia among a plethora of conditions. The FDA has even approved a CBD based drug to manage seizures in rare and severe pediatric epilepsies.

Innovation is common to the hemp/CBD industry, and players are constantly finding new ways to enjoy the two products. On Tuesday, two Randolph County companies announced that they had managed to combine hemp and CBD to make a new and exciting product.

Founders Hemp, an Asheboro-based hemp processor, and Nufabrx, a biomaterials company based in Conover, North Carolina harbored a dream. They wanted to create a way for consumers to receive their dose of CBD on the go, and out of that dream, the Hemp Squeeze was born.

It is a CBD-infused compression garment made from hemp that’s designed to deliver relief to pained joints over time, and it is good for 25 washes. The technology used by Nufabrx to make the garment is patented. The CBD oil is infused into the fibers of the garment, and the fibers slowly deploy CBD over time.

“We’re taking a brand new industry, hemp, and taking an old industry, textiles, and we’re using new technology to help rejuvenate textiles in North Carolina. I never dreamed, when we first started this three years ago, that our hemp squeeze would be made in Asheboro,” says Founders Hemp CEO and founder Bob Crumley.

“We want to get people thinking more about how hemp can be used to help grow other industries. Specialty products like infused textiles are one way to bring quality textile jobs back to the state.”

Crystal Gettys from the Randolph County Economic Development Corporation concurs. “Not only are they high-quality jobs, but they are paying wages that well exceed our average wage for Randolph County.”

John Schindler, the founder and CEO of Nufabrx, says his company is extremely excited to partner with Founders Hemp to launch an entirely new category of CBD-infused products. “Health wear is the next generation of clothing, with CBD and other actives built directly into the garment itself.”

Would one be far off to imagine that CBD companies like SinglePoint Inc. (OTCQB: SING) and VPR Brands LP (OTCQB: VPRB) are also frequently surprised by the new ways of using cannabidiol? Your guess is as good as ours!
