Former Drug Addict Asserts That CBD Helped Her Recover

If you’ve been paying the slightest attention to the news lately, you must have heard of cannabidiol oil (CBD). It’s extracted from hemp, a variety of cannabis with less than 0.3% THC (the chemical that creates marijuana’s infamous ‘high’) and it’s said to be a potent natural medicine.

Anecdotal evidence says the compound is effective against a variety of conditions from anxiety and depression to chronic pain and insomnia. And although there’s little scientific evidence to back these claims, users swear by CBD’s ability.

The hemp extract also has properties that make it a good recovery drug. While this ability hasn’t been properly researched, CBD seems to help addicts recover from their addictions. At least it does anecdotally.

At 12 years old, Taylor Hogan was addicted to painkillers, and it escalated until years later, she was on heroin. Just last year, she was diagnosed with bipolar 2, and none of the medications she was taking worked. She would go through manic mood swings, and at times she was so depressed she couldn’t muster the energy to get out of bed in the morning.

Eventually, she decided to dump the pharmaceuticals and go natural. She got some CBD from Happy Hemp Farmacy, and the effects were quickly apparent. “If it wasn’t for CBD, I’d probably still be trying any drug they threw up at me and I don’t know where I’d be,” she says.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 21.5 million Americans were in need of therapeutic treatment in 2014. However, you would have to find medication that isn’t addictive, and a lot of pharmaceuticals are. CBD, on the other hand, isn’t addictive.

It works in concert with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a nervous system in charge of regulating motor coordination, pain perception, sleep, mood, and other functions that contribute to the homeostasis or internal balance of the body. CBD may work by reducing the uncomfortable symptoms associated with addiction, such as cravings and anxiety.

On Tuesday, Hogan met up JP Cisco from Happy Hemp Farmacy after reaching Hogan reached out to say thanks. “She reached out to me a long time ago and was like, ‘I just wanted to let you know that your product saved my life.'”

According to Hogan, the CBD products she’s been using to help recover from her addiction have kept her stable and grounded, and that’s a new feeling that she’s slowly getting used to. “It makes me feel whole again, instead of bits and pieces of little Taylors running all over the place. It’s just like I’m coming back into one whole.”

Industry watchers believe that it is such testimonies from product users that keep companies like ChineseInvestors.com Inc. (OTCQB: CIIX) working day and night to develop new products or improve upon the existing ones.
