Knoxville Woman Credits CBD Oil for Ending Her Uncontrollable Shaking

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a hemp extract that’s been slowly gaining traction in the medical, sports, and health and wellness communities. It is one of the over 100 cannabinoids produced by hemp, and it stands out from the rest in a mighty way. According to its users, the chemical is a potent natural medicine, capable of acting against a host of conditions from chronic pain to high blood pressure and anxiety.

However, despite these claims, there’s little scientific evidence to back them up. The only approved CBD drug is epidiolex, and it’s used to manage seizures in two rare and hard to treat pediatric epilepsies, Dravet syndrome, and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

CBD proponents will be glad to hear of another story concerning the hemp extract’s medicinal properties that ends well after a woman from East Knoxville claimed cannabidiol stopped the uncontrollable shaking and muscle spasms that characterized most of her life.

Norma Miller suffered from Dystonia for 17 years. It’s a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable muscle movement and pain. “This movement was so exhausting, I mean, I spent the majority of my life either in bed or on a recliner,” she says.

She could hardly walk for long, and she had to resort to using a wheelchair and a motorized scooter. Apparently, her spasms were triggered by noise and light, and as daunting as it may have seemed for her, she was determined to keep on living.

She started using CBD last September, and she says it literally changed her life. “In three weeks, I woke up one morning and wasn’t having any movement, except when I wanted to move,” she says happily. Most CBD users have claimed internal benefits from the drug, like pain relief, but Miller claims that for her, the effect was out in the open. “It’s a before and after. You can see a big difference.”

She went from barely being able to write her name to running a 5k race. “It was life-changing, totally life-changing. I could do things that I haven’t done in years. I mean I’ve done a 5k since then. Since September, I’ve done a 5k. Never did that before.”

Miller takes full spectrum CBD twice a day. She leaves the oil under her tongue for 5 minutes to absorb then swallows, and she says it’s what works best for her.

The consensus is that more research is needed to prove that CBD is actually effective, and to determine any side effects. It’s important to consult your doctor if you plan on taking CBD, especially if you’re on different medications.

Nevertheless, testimonies like that of Norma Miller may be the motivation that keeps CBD companies like IONIC Brands Corp. (CSE: IONC) (OTC: IONKF) and SinglePoint Inc. (OTCQB: SING) working hard to improve the quality of life of even one more person.
